“As a profession, graphic designers have been shamefully remiss or ineffective about plying their craft for social or political betterment.”

comment — To me, everything is political, and as designers, ideally we should direct our skills towards projects that enhance the world in a measurable — if minor — way. I’m still finding my way as a designer, but I come to design both as an escape or a holiday from politics, but also an extension of the same. I was an early sceptic of the information revolution, and I remain so. Nonetheless, we should use all tools at our disposal, and invent new forms of existing politically. In an age of aesthetics, design is both political and obligatory to political action.
